What does the €99 include?
It's the one-time initial payment. Outside Spain it gives you access to the software that builds your website from your details, so you can review and publish it; in Spain it covers the setup of your website by our team. Launch price, final (the regular price is €199): applicable taxes depend on your billing country and we add no charges. It isn't the purchase of the website, and it doesn't include the domain or the plan you choose afterwards.
What is the launch offer?
An offer with limited places. You pay the €99 initial setup as usual and, if you choose the monthly plan, your first calendar month (€24) is included, counted from the day your website goes live, never during the build. Before it goes live you expressly authorize the later charge; nothing is charged that day. We email you 7 days before the first €24 charge and, if you cancel before then, you pay nothing more. After that it's €24 a month until you cancel, effective at the end of the month already paid. The annual plan keeps its price and doesn't include this month. Your place is confirmed on the payment page, next to the pay button; if places run out before then, you'll see there that your order doesn't include it before paying.
Is there a minimum term?
The monthly plan has no minimum term. The annual plan is 12 months prepaid and isn't refundable once purchased, in exchange for the discount, except for any rights granted by mandatory law. The exact conditions are in the Terms of Service.
Who owns the domain?
You do. The domain is registered in your name and you pay its yearly renewal separately, at cost with no markup. If you leave OwnGuests, you take your domain with you.
How do I get paid for bookings?
With Stripe, in your own account: bookings on your website are paid straight into it. Stripe charges its processing fee, which depends on the card and the country of your account (in Spain, from 1.5% + €0.25 for standard EEA cards). OwnGuests takes no commission per booking.
Which countries can I sign up from?
Spain and 41 other countries: the rest of the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Gibraltar, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Thailand. What counts is the country you bill from; your property can be elsewhere. Outside Spain the service is automated: the software builds your website from your details and photos, you review and publish it, with written support, and you need a Stripe account in your country to take guest payments. We confirm whether your case is covered before you pay. Your guests can book and pay from anywhere.
Which currency do I pay in?
Prices are in euros and you see the exact amount before paying; outside Spain, Stripe may show it in your local currency. What your guests pay is charged in your own Stripe account.
How are double bookings avoided?
We sync your calendar with Airbnb and other platforms that offer iCal calendars, and we check availability right before confirming each booking. If the external calendar stops updating, we temporarily close bookings and let you know. Even so, platforms read calendars with a delay (sometimes hours), so it isn't real-time sync: if we detect a conflict, we tell you immediately.
What happens if a guest cancels?
Each booking follows your property's cancellation policy and refunds come from your Stripe account. OwnGuests takes no commission per booking, so there's no commission to adjust.
What about disputes or chargebacks?
They're handled in your Stripe account, and Stripe charges its fees to the account holder.
Can I change plans?
Yes, between monthly and annual: the change applies at the end of the period you've already paid, with no proration. Write to us and we'll schedule it.
Is OwnGuests available in the Canary Islands?
Yes. You can sign up for the monthly and annual plans.
Can I take my website with me if I leave?
Your domain is always yours and you take it with you. If you also want to take the website and its code, there's a buy-out option; we'll confirm its price in writing.
What is CheckInSecure and why is it free?
CheckInSecure is a free service for guest registration at properties in Spain (SES.Hospedajes). It's free forever and you don't need it to use OwnGuests.
