Cookie policy
Reviewed on 2026-10-23 directly against the code: OwnGuests uses strictly necessary cookies, technical markers in the browser's local storage and, only if you choose it, a language preference.
Cookies we use
og_session — owner session (first-party, strictly necessary): keeps you signed in to your commercial account (/cuenta) after accessing via an email link or from CheckInSecure. Lasts at most 30 days; deleted on sign-out.
og_sso_state — security of sign-in from CheckInSecure (first-party, strictly necessary): ties the hand-over between CheckInSecure and OwnGuests to your browser so nobody can slip you into their account. Only exists during sign-in and expires after 5 minutes.
__Host-og_panel — Direct Website admin panel session on your own domain (first-party, strictly necessary): keeps you signed in to your rental's admin panel. Lasts at most 7 days; deleted on sign-out or when you sign out of all sessions from your account.
__Host-og_panel_state — security of the hand-over to that panel (first-party, strictly necessary): ties opening the panel on your domain to your browser. Expires after 5 minutes and is deleted on sign-in.
pa_session — admin panel session when the website runs on its own, outside the OwnGuests platform (first-party, strictly necessary). Lasts at most 30 days; deleted on sign-out.
og_lang — chosen language (first-party, functional): stored only when you switch language yourself with the ES/EN selector, so that ownguests.com shows the version you chose when you come back. It contains only "es" or "en" and lasts one year. As you expressly request it, it does not require consent.
Local storage (localStorage) og-auth-signal: when you sign out we store only the time of sign-out so your other open tabs also stop showing your account. It contains no personal data or identifier.
Local storage (localStorage) og_currency: functional preference for the display currency (EUR or USD) of the public pages. It is stored only when you change the currency selector yourself, stays in your browser and is never sent to the server; it contains no personal data or identifier. As you expressly request it, it does not require consent.
Why there is no cookie banner
Apart from the preferences you choose yourself (og_lang and og_currency), the cookies and the local storage marker above are strictly necessary for the service to work (keeping your session signed in securely and signing it out in every tab): the law does not require consent for them. We do not set any other first-party or third-party cookie, and we do not use advertising or tracking tools. We measure visits in aggregate with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and does not identify you or follow you across sites. Nor do we store anything else in the browser's localStorage or sessionStorage. Each page has its own address per language (Spanish at the root, English under /en/); only the ownguests.com/ entry picks a version from your browser language or the one you chose with the selector (og_lang), never from your location. That is why this page does not include a banner: it would not provide any real control.
Payments
When paying, Stripe may use its own cookies on its hosted payment page (outside our domain), under its own policy. OwnGuests does not control or receive those cookies.
Changes
If we add non-essential cookies or measurement tools in the future, we will update this page and ask for your consent before using them.
